Post and schedule on Instagram
You have two options: Pocket Creator publishes your post automatically at the chosen time, even when the app is closed. Or you post yourself, and the app prepares everything for you.
The Pocket Creator app is currently available in German only. Buttons and labels appear here exactly as in the app, in German, with an English translation in brackets.
- Pick a day to postIn the post in your gallery, tap Tag zum Posten auswählen (Pick a day to post).
- Choose a dayTap a day in the calendar. Past days are disabled, dots show days that already have something scheduled.
- Set the timeHour with − and +, minutes with :00, :15, :30 or :45.
- Schedule and confirmTap Einplanen (Schedule). The first time, a note explains auto-posting and you tap Bestätigen (Confirm).
- Pocket Creator postsAt the chosen time the post goes live, even with the app closed. You get the notification “Beitrag veröffentlicht” (Post published).

Connecting Instagram
To post automatically and to see your numbers on the home screen, connect Pocket Creator to Instagram. You sign in directly with Instagram. You don't need a Facebook page.
- Tap Instagram verbinden (Connect Instagram). You'll find it in first steps, on the home screen, or under Einstellungen → Instagram.
- Instagram opens in a window inside the app. Sign in and allow access.
- Pocket Creator loads your profile and briefly shows loading profile, spotting trends, building insights. Then you're back on the home screen.
Business or Creator account required: Instagram only allows automatic publishing for professional accounts. Personal accounts aren't supported by the Instagram API. You can switch for free in the Instagram app under Settings → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
Once connected, the home screen shows your performance (views and likes for 24 hours, 7 or 30 days) and your latest posts with their numbers. Tapping a post opens it in Instagram. These numbers are available on all plans.
Publishing automatically
Schedule a finished post with Tag zum Posten auswählen. The first time, a note appears explaining that the post will be published automatically on your Instagram profile on the chosen day and at the set time. Tick Hinweis nicht nochmal anzeigen (Don't show again) to hide it in future.
- Time zone: all times are German time (Europe/Berlin).
- App closed: no problem. Our server checks every two minutes whether something is due.
- Success: notification “Beitrag veröffentlicht – Dein geplanter Beitrag ist jetzt live auf Instagram.” (Your scheduled post is now live on Instagram.)
- Carousels: are published as one carousel with all four images.
You'll find scheduled posts in the Plan tab, switchable between Monat (month) and Woche (week). Each entry has a status: Geplant (scheduled), Gepostet (posted) or Fehler (error).
Changing or stopping a scheduled post
Tap the post in the calendar. There you can:
- Caption bearbeiten: edit caption and hashtags,
- Bild/Video hinzufügen or Medium ändern: add or change the media,
- In Fotos speichern: save to Photos, or share,
- Jetzt auf Instagram posten: publish right away instead of at the scheduled time,
- Aus Warteschlange entfernen (Remove from queue): the post won't be published but stays in your gallery.
Scheduling your own post
You can also schedule photos or videos you didn't create with Pocket Creator. In the Plan tab, pick the day, tap +, choose Bild oder Video (image or video), set the time (preset to 18:00), write caption and hashtags and tap Einplanen. Details in Calendar.
Posting yourself
In the gallery there's Jetzt auf Instagram posten. It doesn't publish anything automatically, it prepares everything:
- The visible image is saved to your Photos.
- Caption and hashtags are copied.
- Instagram opens. You pick the image and paste the caption.
Confirmation: “Bild gespeichert · Caption kopiert.” (Image saved · caption copied.) For a carousel only the currently visible image is saved. Use Speichern first to put all four in your Photos. You don't need an Instagram connection or a paid plan for this.

When something goes wrong
- “Professionelles Konto benötigt” (Professional account required): your Instagram is a personal account. Switch it to Business or Creator and reconnect.
- “Beitrag konnte nicht veröffentlicht werden” (Post couldn't be published): Pocket Creator tried several times. Open the post in the calendar and tap Jetzt auf Instagram posten.
- Status “Fehler” in the calendar: Instagram rejected the post. Check the connection under Einstellungen → Neu verbinden (Reconnect), then try Jetzt auf Instagram posten.
- “Verbindung fehlgeschlagen” (Connection failed): check your internet connection and try again.
Disconnecting Instagram
Go to Einstellungen → Instagram trennen (Disconnect Instagram). Your business information and posts are kept. Note: posts that are already scheduled can't be published without a connection. Reconnect before they're due.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Facebook page?
No. Pocket Creator uses the direct Instagram login.
Does my iPhone need to be on at posting time?
No. Our server does the publishing.
Can I connect several Instagram accounts?
Pocket Creator connects to one Instagram account. Use Neu verbinden to switch accounts.
