Set up Pocket Creator
The first time you open Pocket Creator, it asks about your business in three short steps. You don't need an account or a password. At the end, your first post is created automatically in the background.
The Pocket Creator app is currently available in German only. Buttons and labels appear here exactly as in the app, in German, with an English translation in brackets.
- Accept the privacy policyTick the box under Ich habe die Datenschutzerklärung gelesen … (I have read the privacy policy) and tap Los geht's (Let's go). The button stays grey until the box is ticked.
- Choose your industryTap one of the eleven tiles. With Sonstiges (Other) you type your industry yourself. If you have a website, enter it at the top and Pocket Creator fills in industry, name and description for you.
- Enter your nameYour name or business name is optional. Then tap Weiter (Continue).
- Add a logo and photoBoth are optional. As soon as you add one, you briefly confirm that you own the rights to it.
- Set your tone and describe your businessChoose Locker (casual), Seriös (professional) or Provokant (bold). Under Über dein Geschäft (About your business) you can write up to 500 characters.
- Create your first postTap Ersten Post erstellen (Create first post). You land on the home screen, where your first post appears in about two minutes.

Do I need an account?
No. Pocket Creator works without sign-up, email or password. On first launch, the app creates a device ID and stores it securely in your iPhone's keychain. Your posts, settings and subscription are linked to this ID, and it survives app updates.
You'll find the ID under Einstellungen (Settings) → Geräte-Kennung (Device ID). Write it down if you plan to delete the app and later want us to remove your data. See Data and account.
The three steps in detail
1. Welcome
The first screen shows what the app does. At the bottom, you confirm that you've read the privacy policy and agree to processing by OpenAI, which generates the texts and images. Only then can you continue.
2. Industry
You can choose from real estate, fitness, beauty, food & drink, coaching, fashion, technology, trades, education, health and other. Your industry determines which topics and styles Pocket Creator suggests.
Import from your website: enter your website at the top and tap Übernehmen (Apply). Pocket Creator reads the page for about ten seconds and fills in industry, name and description. Fields you have already filled in are not overwritten. If the app finds a logo, it suggests it in the next step.
3. Details
- Your logo (Dein Logo): cropped square and later placed in your images.
- Photo of you (Foto von dir): lets Pocket Creator show you in posts. Only one person should be visible in the photo: you.
- Tone (Tonalität): casual is preselected. Professional sounds more factual, bold sounds sharper.
- About your business: a few sentences on what you offer and for whom. The more specific, the better the texts fit.
- Link to your website: optional, if you didn't enter it earlier.
If you add neither photo nor logo, the app asks once: Jetzt Bild hochladen (Upload image now) or Ohne Bild fortfahren (Continue without image). Both are fine. You can add a photo and logo at any time.
What happens next
Pocket Creator saves your details and immediately creates your first post. On the home screen you see a card with a progress ring that moves through the stages: strategy, image brief, image, caption. This takes about two minutes. You don't have to wait: creation continues on our server even if you close the app.
When the post is ready, you get a notification (if you've allowed them) and find it in your image gallery.
Tip: allow notifications when the app asks. Pocket Creator then tells you as soon as an image is ready. You can change this later under Einstellungen → Mitteilungen (Notifications).
Changing things later
Everything from setup lives under Profil (Profile), your business information: logo and photo, name, industry, audience, tone, description, website and brand colours. Changes apply to all new posts.
You don't connect Instagram during setup. You do it later, when you need it. See Posting and scheduling.
Frequently asked questions
I closed setup with the X. What now?
The X takes you to the home screen without saving. Setup starts again the next time you open the app.
Do I have to upload a photo of myself?
No. Without a photo, Pocket Creator creates images without a recognisable main person, such as scenes, products or graphics. It never invents a person who pretends to be you.
Where do my photo and logo go?
They are stored on our server and sent to OpenAI to generate images. That's why the app asks for your consent first. You can delete the photos and your consent at any time. Details are in the privacy policy (German).
My website can't be read.
Check that the address is correct and the page is publicly reachable. If it still doesn't work, just continue and enter your name and description yourself. You can re-read your website later under Profil → Deine Homepage (Your website).
Does setup cost anything?
No. Setup and your first post are included in the free plan. See Plans and subscription for what Free includes.
