Create a carousel
A carousel (in the app: Bilderreihe) is an Instagram post of four images people swipe through. Pocket Creator builds it like a short story and makes sure all four images look alike.
The Pocket Creator app is currently available in German only. Buttons and labels appear here exactly as in the app, in German, with an English translation in brackets.
- Choose carouselErstellen → Bilderreihe erstellen (Create carousel).
- Pick a styleJust like a single image: tap a suggestion, then Post erstellen (Create post).
- Image 1 sets the lookPocket Creator creates the first image first. Images 2 to 4 take over its colours, type, lighting and person.
- Swipe throughThe finished carousel is in your gallery. The dots below the image show where you are.
- Save or scheduleSpeichern (Save) puts all four images in your Photos. Scheduling publishes the whole carousel automatically.

How a carousel is built
Every carousel has exactly four images:
- Hook: the opener that stops people scrolling.
- Content: the first point or explanation.
- Content: the second point or the answer.
- Call to action: what readers should do, such as visit you, save the post or message you.
The first image is created first and serves as the template. Images 2 to 4 take over its colour palette, type, lighting and, if there is one, the same person. That way the carousel feels like one piece.
Three ways to create a carousel
- Erstellen → Bilderreihe erstellen: with style suggestions, like a single image.
- Erstellen → Eigene Idee posten → format Bilderreihe: with your own topic. See Your own idea.
- In the content plan: suggestions marked “Bilderreihe” with the button Generieren (4) (Generate).
When it appears in the gallery
A carousel only shows up in your gallery once all four images are finished. Until then, you can follow the progress on the home screen. Creation runs on our server, so you can close the app.
In the post view, “Carousel” is shown at the top. You can regenerate each image separately: the button then reads, for example, Bild 2 neu generieren (Regenerate image 2).

Each image in the carousel counts as one image from your quota, so a carousel counts as four. If you have fewer than four images left, the carousel is shortened to as many images as you have. Images that fail are refunded.
On the free plan, Bilderreihe erstellen shows a lock and “Pro”. Tapping it shows the plans.
Publishing on Instagram
- Automatically: schedule the carousel with Tag zum Posten auswählen (Pick a day to post). Pocket Creator publishes all four images as one carousel. See Posting and scheduling.
- Yourself: Speichern puts all four images in your Photos. Jetzt auf Instagram posten (Post to Instagram now) only saves the image currently visible and opens Instagram. You add the others there yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose more or fewer than four images?
No, a carousel always has four images. It only gets fewer if your quota doesn't cover four.
One image doesn't match the others.
Open the carousel in the gallery, swipe to that image and tap Bild … neu generieren. Describe in one sentence what should change.
My carousel still isn't in the gallery after several minutes.
It only appears once all four images are done, which takes longer than a single image. You can see the status on the progress card on the home screen.
